 Experience:
American School of Milan- Italy (Aug 2023 - Current)
IBDP Psychology, IBDP Theory of Knowledge, Whole-School Sustainability Coordinator

  • Delivered the past and current IBDP Psychology curriculum with a focus on the skill of discussing research methods in a critical way. I have already completed the new Professional Development for the modified DP Psychology class. 
  • Built new lessons by integrating the Prescribed Titles for the TOK essay into the Areas of Knowledge for robust conversations in the class in order to better prepare the students for their assessments. The students were guided to  focus on their other DP courses so they can integrate the content into our TOK classroom discussions. This allowed the students to question what they already know in a different way. 
  • Collaborated to develop the Core Program for the school which completely supports the TOK, CAS and EE of the DP.
  • Established the new position of Whole-School Sustainability Coordinator with a focus on networks within and outside of the school which led to the attainment of the Green Flag Award from Eco-Schools Italia. 

​Beijing City International School- China (Aug 2019 - Current)

IBDP Business Management, CORE Class (CAS, EE, TOK & Portfolio), IDEATE Global Issues, Grade 11 Level Facilitator
  • Developed the ‘Core Program’ of the IB DP which entailed teaching Theory of Knowledge, advising CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) experiences, monitoring the Extended Essay, and guiding the development of a Learning Portfolio.
  • Planned the ‘Ideas Market’ which was an exhibition of students work from two types of curricula (DP & Ideate).  This was a celebration of learning which showcased projects, new learnings, and new discoveries.   ​
  • Developed curriculum for the ‘IDEATE’ program (Project Based Curriculum) for the Global Issues Class. The curriculum was focused on Sustainable Development Goals, ethical decision making, inequalities, harmony with nature, media literacy, doughnut economics and art for impact.  ​
  • Collaboratively planned the ‘Portfolio Defense Day’ where the Grade 12 students showcase their Learning Portfolios that have been developed over the high school career with a focus on the Impacts of Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Purposeful Doing, and Connected Learning.   
  • Developed the ‘Circular Garden Club’ which focused on circularity (Composting, planting, growing, and harvesting). This club inspired the Circularity Projects which currently has projects on Aquaponics, Hydroponics, Carbon Capture, Solar Panels and the use of Spent Coffee Grounds for Face Scrub.  

Gems American Academy- Abu Dhabi (Aug 2013 – July 2019)

IBDP Business Management, Economics, Theory of Knowledge and CAS Coordinator
  • Led the CAS and TOK program to demonstrate the power of the core in the DP program with a focus on students connecting their knowledge throughout the program.
  • Developed curriculum using UBD approach for DP Business, Economics and TOK that helped leading up to IB re-authorization.
  • Integrated technology as a tool for differentiation leading to a flipped classroom where students were in control of their learning.
  • Participated in the coordination of documentation for the IBDP official visit that led to IBDP authorization.
  • Held DP program Core workshops for staff and parents which has led to a strong communal effort towards building an understanding in the community.

American International School of Kuwait- Kuwait City (Sept 2011- June 2013)

  • Developed and implemented unit lessons for the IBDP Business Management and Economics leading to above average scores on the World Exams.
  • Fostered a classroom environment conducive to learning and promoting excellent student/teacher interaction.
  • Used differentiated instruction and both formative and summative assessments to evaluate student work fostering a constant evaluation process.
  • Coordinated the arrival of staff by preparing housing and ensuring a positive setting-in process for all new hires.
